Our Preschool

Why choose our Preschool?

Mundarra Preschool  is situated on the grounds of Batemans Bay Public School and is a Department of Education funded setting managed as an important part of Batemans Bay Public School.

We give every child the start in early childhood education. At Mundarra, children explore, ask questions and grow in a safe and caring place. Our friendly team helps each child learn and feel good through fun, hands-on play that builds confidence and curiosity.

We look forward to welcoming you and your child to Mundarra. Contact us to talk to our team, book a tour or join our waitlist.

Fees

We do not charge fees to attend our preschool. NSW Public Preschools are funded by the NSW Government.

Attendance

Public Preschools enrol children for one year only, the year before they start school.

Children can enrol from the beginning of the school year if they turn 4 years of age before 31 July that year.

Meals

Children bring their own meals and snacks to preschool. For more information, please contact us.

Transition to school

We have a set of planned activities to make sure your child has a smooth start to Kindergarten. We begin most formal transition sessions in Term 4, however Mundarra Preschool children visit Batemans Bay Public School throughout the year and our school based setting makes moving to Kindergarten a smooth, familiar and supported one.

How to enrol?

Unlike NSW Public Schools, there are no intake areas for Public Preschools. Enrolment is on application only. If your child turns four on or before 31 July and will be attending Kindergarten the following year, you may apply enrol your child in preschool for that year.

Download our Expression of Interest Application (PDF 569KB)

The application can be returned via email to batemansba-p.school@det.nsw.edu.au or to our school front office.

Mundarra Preschool accepts expression of interest applications and develops a wait list from the beginning of Term 2,  the year before the child starts preschool.  Offers to attend the preschool will be made Mid Term 3. Spaces may still be available through Term 4 so please give us a call to confirm.

When the number of applications exceeds availability, children will go on a waiting list. The school's placement panel will consider and prioritise these applications.

Priority is given to children from disadvantaged backgrounds who are unable to access other children's services, in particular, families experiencing financial hardship and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children.

What do I need to provide to enrol at Preschool?

Documentation regarding immunisation must be supplied, Proof of Birth and Proof of Address.

Enrolling in a Preschool within a school does not guarantee a place at that school for Kindergarten.
