Volunteering in the Canteen

The canteen also relies on daily volunteer staff in order to function efficiently.  Any profit from the canteen goes, in the first instance, to the canteen to improve the food service. Any funds leftover go to the P&C Association.

· Our canteen cannot function without its volunteers. Do you have any spare time you could donate from time to time?

· Volunteers are highly valued and desperately needed.

· Volunteering in the canteen shows your child that you support the canteen as an important part of his/her school life.

· Volunteering for the canteen is easy - you will receive free training, a free lunch and free choice as to when you work.

We would love to have you help out in our wonderful school canteen. Do you have a spare few hours every few weeks? Or once a month? Contact Jennelle on 4472 4059

A Great Choice Healthy School Canteen

The revised NSW Healthy School Canteen Strategy, launched in February 2017 is  implemented through the mandatory Nutrition in Schools Policy  and supports a culture of healthy eating at our school by:

·         promoting and increasing student access to healthier foods and drinks

·         decreasing student access to less healthy food and drinks

·         supporting water as a drink of choice

·         making a healthy choice an easy choice

The Food and Drink Criteria underpins the NSW Healthy School Canteen Strategy and applies to all foods and drinks sold in the school canteen. This includes items on the menu, sold over-the-counter, online, and in vending machines that are for student use.

Further information about the NSW Healthy School Canteen Strategy can be found on the NSW Department Education website healthyschoolcanteens.nsw.gov.au and the NSW Healthy Kids Association website Healthy School Canteen Strategy.
