The study of mathematics is mandatory from Kindergarten to Year 10.
By studying mathematics, students learn to work mathematically – developing fluency, understanding, problem-solving, reasoning and communication skills.
The syllabus consists of the following strands:
- number and algebra
- measurement and geometry
- statistics and probability.
Matific
We will be using Matific by integrating episodes shown on SMART boards into lessons, small group work using hand held devices and independent activities using Information Communication Technologies (ICT).
Matific is perfect for practising mathematical skills in the classroom and students will be able to use their login to access it at home.
